# What You’ll Need:

→ Proteins

01 - 4 slices roasted turkey breast
02 - 4 slices beef bacon

→ Bread

03 - 6 slices sandwich bread (white or whole wheat)

→ Vegetables

04 - 2 leaves romaine lettuce
05 - 2 slices ripe tomato
06 - 2 slices red onion (optional)

→ Condiments & Dairy

07 - 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
08 - 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)

→ Extras

09 - Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
10 - Butter, for toasting (optional)

# How To Make It:

01 - Fry beef bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain excess fat using paper towels.
02 - Lightly toast the bread slices. Optionally, spread a thin layer of butter on each slice for enhanced flavor.
03 - Evenly spread mayonnaise and Dijon mustard, if using, over one side of each toasted bread slice.
04 - Place one slice of bread, mayonnaise side up, on a plate. Layer with romaine lettuce leaf, roasted turkey slices, and a tomato slice. Season lightly with salt and pepper. Add a second slice of bread, mayonnaise side down, then spread mayonnaise on the top side of this slice. Layer beef bacon and red onion slices, if using. Top with the final bread slice, mayonnaise side down.
05 - Gently press the sandwich and cut into halves or quarters using a serrated knife. Optionally secure sections with toothpicks. Serve immediately, accompanied by pickles or chips if desired.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • The beef bacon brings a deeper, richer smoke than regular bacon, making every bite feel indulgent without being heavy.
  • It comes together in under 30 minutes but tastes like you've been planning it all week.
  • There's something deeply satisfying about the three-layer structure—it's practical, neat, and just pretty to look at.
02 -
  • Toasting the bread isn't optional—it's the difference between a sandwich that holds together and one that falls apart after two bites.
  • The order of assembly matters: tomato should sit on the turkey layer, not directly against the bread, so it doesn't make things soggy.
  • Beef bacon cooks faster and crispier than regular bacon, so watch it closely or you'll end up with burnt edges.
03 -
  • Make sure your tomato is truly ripe and at room temperature—cold tomato loses its flavor, and underripe tomato is grainy and disappointing.
  • If you're assembling ahead of time, toast the bread and assemble right before eating, but you can cook the bacon and prepare everything else an hour or two in advance.
